I think I've mentioned this before, but instead of loading up the trailer and moving straight from Missouri to South Carolina, Matt, his parents, and I all took a week-long road trip that I've now dubbed "Move-cation." We stopped at several lovely places along the way, and I thought I'd share some photos with you.
First up, Chimney Rock National Park in Chimney Rock, NC.
^ This might be one of my favorite photos ever, now.
^ Matt and I were amazed at this for two reasons: 1) The small boulder looks like a the profile of a face and 2) it appeared to just be teetering on the edge of the larger boulder; seemingly able to fall on anyone at any time. Scary!

The hike up to the point we're at above was hard enough, but then Matt made me climb allll the way to the "exclamation point" (totally disappointing echo, by the way) you see in the 11th photo. It sucked climbing up, but I'm really glad we did it in the end- the view was so gorgeous. I must say, as hard as it is to get used to living in a new place sometimes, I am really excited that I'm close to all sorts of different terrain...the mountains and ocean are only about 2 hours away! For a girl who's been landlocked all her life, this is pretty great news.
Well, that's is for today. If you ever get the chance to see the park, I would highly recommend it!
A nice way to break up the stress of moving with some fun times. Looks like a pretty place.

Deletei'm always so glad I hike that very last worst bit as well. Love the pic of you two together & that scenery is gorgeous! although of course the rock profile might beat everything. Did you get a puppy!? Maybe I missed that. I hope so.
